I am hoping that someone will be able to answer this question - been unable to find anyone that i know who is able to shed any light on the problem.

But about 4 days ago i began experiencing problems with my computer with it pretty much freezing and a box popping up that contained the following:

SysFader: Explorer.exe Application Error

The instruction at “0x77f57ec4” referenced memory at “0x00000067”.

The memory could not be “written”.

Click OK to terminate program.

Click CANCEL to debug program.

Im not to sure how it has come about but I have removed a few programs off my PC in the past week or so.

If you are able to help with this question I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for any help in advance,

Hi Matt, welcome to Geeks to Go! <_<

SysFader is a program used to draw to the screen in Internet Explorer. Usually errors are caused by spyware or viruses.

I would start by scanning for spyware:

and viruses:

If nothing is found, repair Internet Explorer:

Cheers for that - had already completed a virus scan and searched for spyware - so i follwed your steps for fixing explorer and so far have had no more crashes (for that last 6 hours).

Ill give a follow up in a few more days time.

Thanks,
