Greetings,

I encounter a strange issue when I start my PC: Before Windows XP is loading, I have to click on my profile name and Symbol. This is strange, because I have only this particular profile registered on my PC (as administrator) Why does WinXP not use this as default, why do I have to "choose" if I have only one profile.

Please, can you help me out to solve this case - how can I tell WinXp to boot with the administrator profile by default??

Best regards,
Peter

Has it always done this, or have you installed .net framework without the service pack

Thanks for the tip,
Now that you mention it, the problem turned up after the installation od .net framework 1.1
At that time, I already had installed .net framework 2.0 because a prog demanded it - I thought they could "co-exist" on one system without flaws? What should I do next?

They do co-exist but there is a service pack and a hotfix for .net 1.1 and a visit to Microsoft Update should get you both, as far as I know you can install the service pack, re-scan for updates for the hotfix, then you need to reboot and it should go back to the way it was

I restarted and still have to click on my profile symbol... What can I try next?

I looked in there and there is a strange account named "ASP.NET machine A...". Can I delete this account?
Besides this, my own symbol and the "guest" account are visible.
Could it be that Windows asks wether to start my account or this ASP.NEt account m which is not visible on startup for some reason?
