First, Thank you for being so much help to me in the past. My problem is that I recently realized that all media files on sites will not play on my computer with mozilla or aol browsers. Therefore I wanted to go back to using internet explorer to see is that would fix it. Internet Explorer then wouldn't open and kept saying that it doesn't exist. I tried to delete it, but it wouldn't delete because it said it was in use by another program. I then tried to update it and it said I had to install internet explorer sp1, then I tried to install it and it said it couldn't install because I already have a newer version of it. I can't do anything with the microsoft websites because everything I try to do just says that I need to access it from the internet explorer browser, making it nearly impossible for me. If you can be of any help, I'd appreciate it very much. I try to fix these problems myself but it seems to always get me into more trouble because I find myself trying to use programs that are untrustworthy and then I just get viruses on my computer, and yea, I'll just leave it to you.

Also, do you know of any programs that are free that can fix bugs and stuff on my pc because the ones on the site are all basically telling me that I have bugs but in order to get rid of them I have to purchase them, and I would like to buy their software but I'm a poor college student and don't have that kind of money.

It sounds as if you already have it. Did you try a search for it?

We have many programs that are free on this site.

Yea I searched for it and I found the IE folder and the only thing in the IE folder is two other folders named "connection wizard" and "MUI" and two other things named "iecrashdetection" and "hmmmapi.dll" and I tried deleting them and it won't let me.

I went into my program files, and found the folder and tried to delete it. So then I went into the folder and tried to delete the contents of it. And for most of the folders inside it worked... except those mentioned above.

Hello Maidriana.

Let's try a new program called dial-a-fix to solve your IE problems.

Before we make any changes, please create a system restore point by going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. Create a restore point for today. Call it "dial-a-fix"

Next, download Dial-a-fix from http://fileforum.bet...ll/1131569373/2

When you download it, double-click on it to extract all of its files. Then open the folder it creates. Double-click on the file called Dial-a-fix.

At the bottom, click on Tools. Scroll down until you see Repair/Reinstall IE. You may need an XP CD for this. After you highlight it, click on GO. When it is done repairing, reboot your computer and see if you can use Internet Explorer.

The following website provides instructions for removing IE6, including instructions for if you can't find it in Add/Remove:

http://support.micro...om/?kbid=293907

After removing it, you can use the following website to reinstall IE6:

http://www.microsoft...&DisplayLang=en

If you are unsuccessful, I'd recommend borrowing an XP CD from a friend so we can properly repair/reinstall IE on your computer.
