Hi

I am trying to install a new 120 gig hd into a jetway 791 bs/ P2 400 mhz motherboard.
Obviously the mb does not pick up the hard drive.Next i searched the internet for more than 3 hours in search for a bios update. found 1 on jetways website but i get an htttp 404 error when i try to download.E-mailed technical support still waiting 4 reply. What i would like to know is : is there an universal application that i can use to make the bios pickup the 120 gig.
or can someone help me with a link to the correct bios update.

This is a waste for a computer that old.

I don't think you will find a bios upgrade that will help for drives that big. If you must do this i would use a Win 98 boot floppy to partition the drive into multiple drives. If you run into the 8.4 gig limit in the bios you will have to have 13 partitions and there is not enough letters available to do this. If you get lucky you will be able to partition the drive into 2 or 4 partitions. I would partition the drive then shutdown, restart, go into the bios and see if the partitions are recoginized..

It would be far better to buy a old 1 gig processor computer and start from there rather than continue on with a P2-400 puter. I buy these old puters for around $100.
