I Need Help My Computer Might Not Make It

When i turn on my computer it acts like it wants to start but don't it goes to a black screen where you can pick from like 4 or 5 choices like safe mode,safe mode with connections,last know configuration that worked,start windows norm. but then when you pick one of those it goes to the windows xp logo and right back to the black screen no matter which one of those choices you pick. So i guess what i asking can it be fix or do i need to just let it go??????????????

You will probably need to do a repair install of XP for your computer.

Is it a solid black screen, or does the computer give you an error of some sort?
