My AVG virus detects things like -

1.java/byte verify
2.Dropper Agent 2:00am (This is the time I've scheduled it to scan at night)
3.Classload.jar
4.counter_v3 (1) cab
5.Get Access
6.Insecure classloader
7.Installer.class

AVG says there are 24 infected objects and all of them are in documents/settings. It does'nt heal any of these objects and I do
see things in the vault. How can I rid my computer of these.

Here is my HJT Log.Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2

hello
coudl you please download the newest version of hijack this from http://www.merijn.or.../hijackthis.zip
Unzip to a convenient permanent folder, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

to make a permanent folder:
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "Hijack" . Now you have a C:\hijack\ folder

then post a fresh log.

Hello again,

To clean some of it out already, please download Spybot: Search and Destroy from http://www.safer-net...?page=download . Check for Updates first, download ALL Updates and Do a Scan. When finished, make sure ALL RED items have been ticked, and click the "Fix Selected Problems" Button.

I'd Also Recommend you Download AdAware, Another good Antispyware Program From http://www.lavasoftu...port/download/ . Install The Program and Run it. Make Sure You Click the "Check for Updates" Button before starting a scan. Do a scan on AdAware and Remove Everything it suggests.

Then, because you have a Large Amount of Trojans and Viruses on Your Computer.

Download a Free Trial of Trojan Hunter at http://www.misec.net...rojanHunter.exe first. Next, take a free Online Virus scan at http://www.housecall.trendmicro.com or http://www3.ca.com/v...virusscan.aspx. After this, Reboot and Post a fresh HijackThis log.

I've got Spybot and Adaware and use them every day, but will follow
your other instructions and post again later today. What do you suggest about the things that AVG has found but can't fix?
I'll post again later today, thanks for responding.

depends on what has been removed by those programs, you will have to do anothe AVG scan after the online scans to find out what is left. I know fo rthe Java-Byte Verify you have to write down the location of each entry and manually delete them.

Please look over the Following Entries I have listed, run Hijack This again and check them and then, making sure you have No Internet Explorer Windows open, including this one, Press the "Fix Checked" Button with HijackThis.

Reboot If I have specified below, and Post a Fresh HijackThis log.

O1 - Hosts: 64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A78860C8-EE1A-46DF-A97F-E3E6D433E80B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\x8466.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [4p10xa.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\4p10xa.exe /k
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [4p10xa.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\4p10xa.exe /k

After this, Reboot and Delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\x8466.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\4p10xa.exe

note: please zip up and send those files here as they look like a new virus

Note: Make sure you have Set Windows to show Hidden Files & Folders before you Start Sending Them to us For Analysis, or you're deleting them. This can be done by looking at the instructions at This Webpage http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

To Delete These Files/Folders, You Will need to Boot into Safe Mode. This can be done by tapping F8 while your machine restarts.

Hello, I installed service pack 2 a while back and it caused my
computer to start and run very very slow so I had to delete it. I
do have the sercice pack 1. Wonder why the service pack 2 caused
