Can anyone tell me if CCleaner & Cleanup are the same? Also what should be checked for best performance so I don't lose anything? What I did was unplug the USB cable and remove the drivers from my HP ScanJet 4200C sranner.Having trouble with scanner. I want to use one of these programs to remove any other evidence of scanner. When I'm done I'm going to try and reinstall the scanner and any drivers. Running Windows 98se......

I haven't used Clean Up

CCleaner has an option to back up the registry before you make any changes, which is the important thing, whichever product you use
