Use this to completely wipe the drive
http://dban.sourceforge.net/
It will take an hour per 25GB of drive size
Install XP and use the default NTFS format, not quick and check it is creating partition 1 on C and if it is any different, press the reset button and it will default to C

Boot and nuke does not need windows, obviously you will need to use the computer you are using to post to get boot and nuke and put it on to a disc, but other than that, it will run
Make sure you only run boot and nuke on the PC you want to fix

I tried this. MAde two cds and a disk...SAme thing happens when i type autonuke..it gets the frist two files opened..then says "uncompressing linux..ok, booting the kernel. Please Wait....." Then it just sits there....thinking ( the underscore is blinking). I thought maybe it was starting to do it..but after I waited 9 hours with it on ( 180 GB drive...25 per hour... <8hrs) So what am i doing wrong. I have a sata drive. Let in the Dban note its says IDE and SCSI. Are sata automatically seen as SCSI or do i need to do something int he bios?

SAMSUNG
S/N S01xJ10x508380
P/N 0888J1Fx503852
Those could be o's but pretty sure they are intended as zeros. ( 1's could be L's but I think they are ones)

So you need this
[ For creating the Disk Manager install disk ]
ⅰ. Download the DM_Creator.zip to somewhere on your hard drive
ⅱ. Extract it. You can see the DM_Creator.exe.
ⅲ. Prepare an empty 3.5" floppy diskette and inset it into your FDD.
ⅳ. Execute the DM_Creator.exe.
(Then, Disk Manager install disk will be created.)

If it has an i815 chipset, disable USB legacy support in BIOS, if it still hangs, use a PS2 keyboard and mouse
Beyond that, use the set up floppies for the version of XP you are installing
