hey, i am trying to uninstall my windows 98 but cannot get it to work. i went into add/remove programs but there is nothing in there labeled windows 98 except for the updates which i deleted but nothing happend... what should i do

Format wipes any existing data and programmes from the drive

Where you have 98 and 2000, are they both on this PC

So you need to repair the existing installation of 98?

there are some missing microsoft programs on my computer and all of the music files have gone corrupt. i wanted to uninstall and reinstall windows and see if this might fix my problem, but in the add/remove programs there is nothing labeled windows 98 or anything like that.

If you uninstall 98 then it takes the existing data and programmes with it

Click start then programmes, then accessories, system tools, system information, click system file check, run that and replace any files it needs from the 98 CD
