Yesterday i was on my computer and everything worked fine, but today i tried to get on and when it gets to the login screen i insert my password and then click login and then the old BLISS background appears and then the computer logs off and takes me back to the main login screen. The log-off process takes a lot longer than normal too. I tried booting into safe mode and disabling all startup items in MSConfig but that didn't work so i tried safemode again and ran some virus scans and also chkdsk but that didnt make any difference and it says that there is nothing wrong with the drive.

It seems somehow the configuration for your account is lost. It may be due to any unknown action. ( You know sometimes that incident happens in window OS which are unperdictable and results in reinstallation of windows OS)

But there's something that can be done. Hope that might work. Now you've already check your harddisk for viruses. Now check your registry for any errors and also do check for startup applications schedule to load at login. If all these don't help, then try making new user account and use it. See, whether its workin fine or not and let me know also.
