Somehow I've managed to cause my context menu default for files to become the "search..." option and can't get it to change back to "open". I went to the Windows Explorer Tools>Folder Options>File Types and under Folders I went to the advanced options and highlighted "open" and set it as the default, however this didn't change anything.

Under the File Folders file type the only action it has listed in the advanced options window is "find" (which is the name for the search option here?), but it isn't highlighted as a default.

How do I get this to default to the "open" action again? Thanks.

I finally found something that worked. In case anyone else has the same problem, try the instructions you find here:
