Hi

Im thinking of purchasing a laptop and can get a good price on a HP centrino etc but I read a review where the reviewer loved the laptop except for the screen. If you viewed it straight on there was a slight "shadow" in the top corner. I presume he means the light shining on it, that sort of thing. Sorry if Im expressing it badly, but wondering if anyone has heard of this and if so is it just a particular model or all HPs?

Also is 14" widescreen too small? Not really a great fan of widescreen (yet anyway!) but thats what its got.

Thanks

LCD are the brightest in the middle of the screen. I have 3 laptops that I work with on a dialy bases. All vary in screen type, size, and ratio. They all look fine to me. The best bet is to go to a local store(Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot) and look at the laptop there. 14'' isnt small at all, I would love to have a 12'' Powerbook but cant to spend that kind of money on a MAC, as were I can get the same or better when buying a PC laptop. Hope that this helps.
