I have Windows XP and I went to sign on and my computer prompts that the profile can not be found. I can sign on under a temp. profile. However all my files are gone. I would not be so upset but some of the files were pictures. I lost all the pictures I had from my daughters first birthday, and first christmas. I have been told that the pictures are still on my computer somewhere I just don't know how to get to them. If any one could please help me I would greatly be thankful.

Poke around in C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\My Documents if they were in there. Otherwise, if your stuff wasn't saved in your My Documents folder, it'll still exist wherever you put them on the disk previously.

Hi CRJ:

I noticed that you have asked for a password on numerous occasions:

http://www.geekstogo...opic=103426&hl=

And then you posted the question in another manner:

http://www.geekstogo...=0

And then you posted again regarding another way of getting a password in a roundabout way:

http://www.geekstogo...=0

And then this recent request.

What is going on and how can we help you?

Hi CRJ, sounds like you have some really odd trouble there Boo. I'm not trying to do any advertising for anybody here, but might I suggest that you drag your PC across town to "Best Buy" and have someone from "The Geek Squad" retrieve your pictures by doing a data retrieval.

It cost less than a hundred dollars. No they won't fish around hunting for your pass word, because just like the guys here at Geeks To Go they aren't sure that you have the authority to access anything on that PC, and they won't help you do that.

I just had to do that to save everything that I could on my system before doing a system restore.

If you don't want to spend the money then you could try using the computers at the public library or at school to do that homework.
