As far as I can tell, there is no spyware involved. However, looking at the site and the game itself, it appears that you may have to deal with ads a lot.

(from Wikipedia) Although gameplay is free, many appearance and gameplay enhancements can be purchased from the Cash Shop with actual currency

I would imagine that this aspect of the game may be displayed by some advertising. I haven't played, so I wouldn't know for sure, but if you don't mind ignoring the calls to upgrade by using real cash, then go for it.
