Hi Folks,

Looking for a bit of help. I have two Pc's (XP Home) on a wireless network using a BT Voyager 2110 modem/router.

Both can connect to the internet fine but I'm having trouble pinging between pc's and cannot gain access to a printer attached to one of the pc's.

I've enabled sharing on the printer, gone through the process on the other pc of browsing for the printer but can only see the other pc's name and not the printer attached to it.

My ipconfig is as follows:

Both pc's appear to be in the MSHOME workgroup although the pc with the printer attached displays the message "The workgroup MSHOME is not accessible".

I'm not too sure how to remedy this, I should have administrator access as the pc is just a normal home computer with no special set up.

The pc attempting to share the printer can see the other pc within the MSHOME workgroup.

That is possibly a firewall setting, close any web pages, disable the firewall then see if you can find the printers, Zone Alarm will only allow printer sharing in the trusted zone

Double click the computer name to expand it to show the printers

Kieth - you were right mate, it was the firewall. (Nortons)

I've never had any dealing with firewall settings before so was a bit clueless about the whole thing. After a bit of scratching around I found out about the "trusted zone".

Assigned the problem pc as trusted and problem solved.

Thanks very much for your input, much appreciated. :whistling:
