Help cant install anything

I cant install anything off the internet, ie: Quake 4 demo,doom 3 demo, almost any demo but sometimes it will allow me for instance 2 days ago it miraculously let me install fear mp demo. But mostly any game demo i get online i cant install and it doesnt give me the same message everytime. I also can save them but when i try to extract it it gets about half way through and crashes. I have no idea to what this is all i want is some demos to try out my new video card but almost any install crashes. Help is greatly appreciated

Hi PoetryInMotion,

Various reasons can cause such problems, so if you don't mind can you be more precise. I mean what kind of error are you getting? can you quote the errors? Just to let us know from where to begin or to put us on the right track.
