Anyways, i have an OCZ Powerstream PSU

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817711002

Also running an x1900 card
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102003

And my mobo and CPU
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813136165
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103529

Also an audigy 2 sound card which i dont have a link of.

But anyway, I have a weird problem where it seems right when its about to load the windows logo the computer just.. restarts. I cant put my finger on the problem but im assuming its the PSU either not having enough power or maybe i just wired something wrong. But i cant figure it out, anyone have any ideas i may be able to test out?

edit:
I just thought, what if i needed to have one of the two disks in a drive while starting it up for the first time? i think i may need to set up the bios, but..

the Floppy disk says:
SATA RAID Driver Disk(no idea what sata raid is)
ATI SB450
Silicon Image 3114
Rev.1.0

The CD says:
Chipset Drivers
Audio Drivers
Network Drivers
Tools

im assuming i run the CD once im actually in the OS

any of this lead up to anything?

Hi

Were you able to actually complete the XP installation or is this problem occuring during the install? Or was XP already installed on the drive & you have simply upgraded the CPU & Motherboard etc but kept the original hard drive & haven't actually re-installed XP?

The Hard Drive already has XP on it, its just it seems like it just cant make it to the XP Logo to launch windows, and i havnt tried reformatting it cause when i press F8 it just wants me to pick an OS to run. Hard Drive is about 2 years old, i upgraded everything but that and it has old data on there.

edit:
I'm about to test out the HD in this machine right now on my new one to see if its a hard drive failure, ill reply soon.
update:
nevermind HD failure, im reformatting now to see if it fixes any problems.

Problem Solved

I reformatted, adjusted some boot settings and.. tada, working machine.. thanks for your time Samm but i got this one all figured out.

Glad to hear it. I was about to advise that you formatted the drive & performed a fresh install but you beat me to it!
