Hi,

I have a home network as I'm sure everyone does. I have no domain controller just a workgroup. When I plug my laptop into the network I would like to access shares from another XP Pro machine without getting a password prompt.

My Laptop has XP Home Media Center. THe sharing computer has XP Pro.

Is there a way to do this?

TIA

Hi HawkCode, I can't help you overcome that problem, however, I did want to ask "Doesn't it make good sense to have that little bit of added protection on your laptop just in the event that it should fall into evil hands?"

Hi,

Oh Yes, I'm not suggesting changing any security on the laptop, just the machine th elap top connects to. That machine is a desktop in my home network.
