Have used Microsoft Word for years with no problem, but recently purchased new HP computer and downloaded Word Office 3-month trial.

Since then, all word documents I receive in body of email have weird characters in place of the quotation marks in text.

And, I've been told that while my own Word documents look fine on MY screen, they come out garbled at other end....but these are same folks I've always sent Word Documents to. (and always pasted into body of emails)

??????? :whistling:

Open Word, click help then detect and repair

What do they get if you attach a Word document or click the e-mail link on the Word document and click send a copy

Hmmm, my subscription just ran out, so I can't try yet. BUT that raises another question. Could the problem of getting weird characters in place of quotation marks be because I downloaded the trial version instead of purchasing a disc and installing it myself? As I mentioned, I've never had this problem with Word before but then it always came with the computer.
