Hello,

I would like to get my HJT log inspected for any suspicious activity. i was attacked by both spyfalcon and spyware quake and was able to remove them. I would like to make sure that i have nothing left.

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe,
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then it will ask for a password enter bye (lowercase) then hit enter. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot.After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.


We will get to uninstalling MessengerPlus later in the Fix.

First, you must uninstall Messenger Plus. You have a LOP infection, that is known to come with Msgr Plus. MessengerPlus3's sponsor software is C2Media. It is installed when user's don't read the EULA ( End User Licensing Agreement), you know all those words that pop up that you have to click "I ACCEPT" to. If you don't uninstall it until we are through, your infection will not be cleaned up!
If you wish to re-install MessengerPlus3 when we are finished cleaning you up, you need to

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. We will use this later.

Please download ewido anti-malware it is a free version of the program.

• Install ewido security suite
• When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
  • Install background guard
  • Install scan via context menu
• Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
• The program will now open to the main screen.
• When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  
• You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
  • Then click on Start Update.
• The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")

If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

Once the updates are installed do the following:

• Boot into Safe Mode:
  Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.
• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. ( takes 30 - 120 minutes )
• You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
• Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close ewido security suite.

Then click "My Computer" when it asks what you want to scan.
After it finishes Click See Report then Save the Report (somewhere you can find it)



Also can you verify that this folder is spelled with a ? when you look at it. ---> C:\Program Files\?icrosoft

i tired to uninstall msgplus and it said that the sponsor program is corrupted, some files have been removed by another program it seems. after that warning though, it gave me a message saying plus was uninstalled. i'm not sure sure whether it uninstalled properly.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

* Select the View tab.

But im using english and you could be using a different language which can cause this "?" . So I need you to go to My Computer > then Local Disc C > then Program Files > and look for ?icrosoft folder. If it is there Delete it.Be Very Careful not to delete any legitimate Microsoft Programs

Ok are you sure you are running ATF-Cleaner ? You shouldnt have so many cookie trackers...

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
Save it to your desktop.We will use this later.




Now please start Ewido AntiMalware and update it to the latest definitions.



Next
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.


Now start Ewido and click Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
Click Save report.
Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close ewido security suite.




Now for KillBox
Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
Select: [list]
Delete on Reboot
then Click on the All Files button.

Click the "Scan Your PC" button in the middle of the page.
You will have to Allow the installation of Active X controls.
You will have to enter a valid e-mail address.
Then click "My Computer" when it asks what you want to scan.
After it finishes Click See Report then Save the Report (somewhere you can find it)
