I'm trying to fix my dad's computer, I'm the ever so lucky designated family computer guy, but I'm at a loss. His computer froze and had to be shut down manually, when it was restarted, windows ran it's disk check utility and found an error in the gina dll (nwgina.dll in this case, it's a Novell file) and truncated it. Now, I can either replace the nwgina.dll file, or change the registry entry to msgina.dll, but because the file is corrupted, I can't log on to the computer. He's running Windows 2000 Pro SP4. Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve reformatting and starting over?

Thanks for any help

I managed to solve it myself, some old Win 98 utilities helped (lucky his drive was formatted with a FAT file system instead of NTFS for some reason)

Thanks anyway
