i have been having trouble with my laptop.

a few programs quit responding everytime i try to run them.
two are poker room programs. ultimatebet , and absolute poker.
but that it is not the only things that are not right.
it takes a long time for windows to shut down. and some other apps stop responding or get hung , when i shut windows down.

i went back to a restore point a few days earlier, and the poker rooms worked for a while. then stopped.
so i did another system restore but it didn't help.

i uninstalled absolute poker and reinstalled it to no avail.

this all started when i used windows one care live.
i can't tell if it is a firewall problem, spyware, or a system problem.

i have used ad-aware, and jv 16 power tools to try and find a solution.

any thoughts

Hey vu-doo. sounds like spy were usually programs like that install malwar with out your approval. I would recommend running a program like Spybot Search and destroy its absolutely free program highly rated, I would also recommend you run a disk clean up on your hard drive and a disk disk defragmentation located in Start all program Accessories System Tools hope that helps.

Hi vu-doo...

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here...then post a HiJackThis log in THAT Forum as I described above. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. DO NOT REPLY TO OR BUMP YOUR OWN LOG. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
