Computer freezes/restarts

While playing games my computer most often freezes randomly, be it 2 minutes or half hour
and somtimes it restarts
my drivers are all up to date and iv reinstalled many of them
would my psu be causing this?

start with memtest 86

http://www.memtest.org/

you can download the floppy image or cd image and start your pc with it

Well i changed a ram setting in my bios prior to trying the memtest and my computer hasnt froze or restarted on its own since.
