ya i understand. No outages as well =) I can have it turned on 24/7/365 if i wan without any interuption. Btw, since i've both side casings opened, how will 2xs 80mm fan help me? since air is circulating in and outta the side regularly.

HMMM I did not know you had the sides off the case, with the sides off case fans would not make much of a differance.

Yes you can leave it on 24/7/365 but like I said the occasional restart is a good idea

ya exactly... I cant figure how a fan would help with both side covers off. However im thinking of buying a fan that blows directly at the motherboard, rested on the bottom of my cpu and blowing upwards. think that might help? or would the temperature being blown up be bad for the cpu?

I don't know, I have heard of people taking the case sides off and letting a desk fan blow air inside

oh, so its ok to actually have a small toy-like fan blowing into the cpu? would it make things worse? how feasible is this solution compared to using cpu's fan

If you are running with your case sides off, and have an Athlon XP (I'm assuming Palamino Core) at 1200MHz, you should not see 43degrees at full load, much less idle. When you take it in to the shop, the problem will either be that the heatsink is mounted improperly (including bad HScompound) or that the fins on your HS are clogged. As long as you are in the shop, it may be worth asking them to use a high-quality compound like Arctic Silver as well as pop on a new HSF unit just to be sure. The small expense of this (as you are already paying shop labor) willl be minimal compared to replacing that processor.

BTW, AMD specs those processors with a critical temp of 90C. I would leave the Diable clients off until you get this fixed.

If you mean to small desktop fans, no. One will provide more airflow than is neccessary, and it sounds like your problems are arising in the HSF mounting and/or the thermal interface. That is something that I would really get checked out by a pro.

erm, not those standing fan... tho i've one atm, blowing right into it for like an hour a day just to cool it abit. i've no idea about these heat sink etc and bringing down is not really feasible atm. its way too far to bring the whole pc down.

anyway, wad i meant is getting 2 cpu fan... sticking by the side... probably hanging abit since i cant find a slot for the fan.. is that ok?
