Hello all,
I just bought a new computer and tried to use my old HDD as an external drive. Bought a firewire enclosure and it installed fine. The problem is that when I try to access my files it says "access denied". It will let me access the windows folder, but not my profile under documents and settings folder.

It had Win XP installed. I just want to recover my old files and then wipe it and use it for storage. How can I gain access? Thanks,
ovey

With admin priviliges on that computer, you should be able to right click on the drive, view and change the security settings.
