XP Problem

Random characters have replaced on the characters on my computer. This shows up everywhere, startup, all menus, all file names. Anybody know what this could be? I have attached a picture of the problem. Thanks for any help.

EDIT: It says the filespace required is over my global limit. It says the global limit left is 2mb
