The Paint [Version 5.0, SP4] "Save As" command only allows .bmp or .dib filetypes.

Have a look at Paint.Net in my signature

You need .net framework 1.1 to version 2.5 and .net framework 2.0 for version 2.6

You could open the image in irfanview then save as

http://www.irfanview.com/

The plug ins are useful

You're correct. I am using a similar utility [Advanced Batch Converter 3.9] to transform Paint .bmp image files to .gif and .jpg. I guess I will stick with that method since it seems to do a better quality filetype conversion than Paint. Thank you for your advice.

No problem

Paint is worth looking at though, it was originally sponsored by Microsoft and has more features than mspaint
