P2P file sharing is like handing your housekey to a burglar...it's just not a good idea. You should find a safer way to aquire your music and video. Plus, we can't assist with anything related to piracy or copyright infringement...so we're already in a gray area here.
That being said, Limewire has probably crammed every nook and cranny in your machine with malware. Nothing we do to fix your problem is going to work if there's something in there undoing the fixes as fast as we make them. Let's let the malware experts deal with this one first.
Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions found there.
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Do Not reply to or "bump" your own topic...if it shows a reply, it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.
If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

as far as limwire goes, thats been on my computer for years, yet this problem has only occured the last few months.
also, the only reason i bumped my own topic was because my last reply was May 29th and i still needed help

I send you to Malware to make sure the machine is clean before we start throwing repairs at it. Limewire is notorious for loading things that can make repairs difficult. Let's just make sure before we start.

hey guys
first post! this forum came highly recommended so i'm here to bombard you with questions
recently everytime i play my winamp, it will eventually freeze. not instantly, and sometimes not at all.
but its annoying as [bleep]. when it does stop, it just wont play the song anymore. everything else on the computer works fine. But then at that point i have to Ctrl ALT DLT and delete it on task manager (a few times) until it starts playing again
or i have to restart my computer
any ideas of what i should do?
Install latest version and problem gone http://www.mywinamp....5.666-MULTI.zip
