I think the title says it all.
I am running XP, and want to clear out a lot of junk I do not use.
I went into the Properties, in-checked the READ ONLY, makred them for Archiving, compressed them, and I just can't get the gone.

Some of the file, DELETE, but then self-replicate.

Also, on the same line...I replaced my scanner, and now can't get rid of PaperPort.
Arrgghhhh....

go to start > settings > control panel > add/remove programs...see if peperport is in there (that's visioneer isn't it? that software sucks if it is)... then click remove next to it, for the windows games and what not....click on the section on the left that says "add/remove windows components" then highlight accessories then click details...now uncheck the checkbox next to games and press ok then next...that will uninstall the games...do the same for the other windows components that you do not want (if there is a check box next to something you want to keep...leave it checked or else it will be uninstalled)

Thank you. I will try all of your suggestions.
(And likely be back if I run into more problems)
Have a good day,
Judy
