I connected the IDE & power cables & also set it to SLAVE & it's not showing up as a drive & won't even open. It was semi-working about 2-3 weeks ago when I hooked it up but now it's not doing anything. This is the first that I've had some free time to work on it. It used to show up as my E drive & would open with no problems & recognize CD-Rs but not DVD-Rs. Now it's not doing anything.

Help anyone?

Its good that you knew to set the new drive to Slave.

However, sometimes the first (lone) drive is set to 'Cable Select' rather than to 'Master'. Make sure it is set to Master. You will have to remove it from the case to check it..

Ok it's working for the most part now. Just for some reason it won't recognize blank DVDs but it recognizes regular DVDs.

What do you mean by "recognize blank DVDs" ? There is nothing there to recognize and auto-start or whatever.

Well now when I open Roxio it doesn't detect any drives. Does it have to do with the registry things I added earlier? I'm also getting an error when I open iTunes now:

Hi

I'm gonna quickly butt in & then probably butt out again but first can you tell me what spec your power supply is please (i.e power rating in watts) & the basic specs of your computer - cpu speed, video card, amount of ram, etc.
