Whenever I try to capture video from my miniDV camera in Windows Movie Maker, after I choose whether I want to capture it manually or automatically, an error comes out saying "unknown error," it's not the camera either because I'm able to capture video with WinDV.

yes except the video captured from windv is split up into different files so it creates a different collection for every file when I try to import them

So you would need to use movie maker to output one collection then another and so on

Can you add the files from one collection to the timeline in movie maker then add another collection and add those to the timeline then output it to one file
