Keyboard/Mouse Lag

Well recently I've been getting this problem again. This has happend before with my old motherboard. When even I play ANY game, my keyboard/mouse freezes for a short time (as if it was stuck). I would be walking around, then all of a sudden I have no control, it just keeps walking. When this happens, I press a button to stop walking and all I get in return is annoying beeps from my computer. Same with the mouse; I fire and it lags so I keep firing without touching the mouse. This is a bit hard to explain, but I did my best. Any ideas as to why this happens?

PS All my drivers are up to date also. Oh, and this is not video lag or anything else.
