Adobe Acrobat 4.0 taking over Reader 7.2!

I have both Acrobat 4.0 and Reader 7.2 installed on my computer. However, I cannot figure out how to make 7.2 open PDF files, and only allow Acrobat to open them when I want it to. I am very limited on features because I can't use Acrobat 7.2. Please help!
