iTunes - prog or addon to allow for bookmarking on Windows XP?

Hello everyone,

I primarily use my iPod to listen to audiobooks that I have converted from my CD collection to mp3 format. One of the big annoyances is the inability to bookmark with iTunes and mp3's. Does anyone know of any programs, scripts or add-ons for iTunes on Windows XP (found many for Mac OS, but none for Windows)? Or am I stuck having to convert to aac to get the bookmark functionality?
