It'll be an onscreen log...the last 10 or 15 lines will say what device is stopping the GUI from installing...he'll just have to tell you what's on the screen and you can relay.

ok he got it to install............it went faster he said.......but we still have no clue what happened or what caused this problem........do you have any ideal what happened or caused or may have caused this proplem.

Devices...BIOS Defaults disable the devices in BIOS...Windows should now load them up from it's own interface. Good job, guys! Way to stick with it... :whistling:

just to fallow up

after restoring all the devices, the problem returned, but he narrowed it down to the onboard network...card....when it is turned on in BIOS it has the black screen.....but disabling the network, the black screen is gone, and windows works right.

Solution:....he is going to buy a new Network card......install it....and problem fixed.

Again thanks for all the help.........just tought I would post the solution incase others were reading, with similar probs.

Onboard Modem and NIC, too? See if he can disable those (and sound) in BIOS Setup

NIC = Network Interface Card...from post #9 :blink:
