My computer won't automatically run my screen saver for some reason, but when I preview any of my screen savers under the display menu, they come up just fine. My Aol Instant Messenger list also never shows me as idle, so I think my computer just doesn't idle for some reason.... Any advice about this problem would be greatly appreciated. Here's a HijackThis log incase that helps:

did you make sure your video card accepts openGL and/or Direct3D screensavers?

sometimes it cant run it simply because of file type differences. im not sure on this because my video card now accepts both, but i never actually tried to run an openGL screensaver with direct3D 9.0, i always thought it would screw something up.

im just suggesting this as a probability as to whats causing it to not run properly.

hope this helps =)

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wasn't the problem. My screen savers had all worked up to a point, and then they just stopped... it was pretty bizarre. Anyway, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I've been trying to figure this thing out for almost a month :tazz: One thing that might help though: I also haven't be able to get my aol instant messenger name to show as "idle" on other peoples' lists. Something is obviously keeping my CPU from idling. That's as far as my computer knowledge can take me right now. Any thoughts?
