Win 98SE, IE6, AVG, Compaq 5360, Hispeed Cable

Can someone tell me why some programs (cibc.com) logon instantly and most others (nhl.com, olgc.ca, bluejays.com) take forever. Even at times when they connect fast, it takes forever for the status bar to reach the far right position. Downloading is maddening.

I am also frequently rerouted to SHOPZILLA when using GOOGLE

Virus?
