sound screwy!?!

when i play a movie or listen to music there is horrible sound quailty. when i use VLC to play movies ther is no voice track just music and sound effects. same with windows media player when i play music its just the intruments and the sound horrible. i tried setting my sound accellerator back one notch to normal but that didnt help... :whistling:
