Hi,
I've recently got a new laptop and have only been using it for a couple of days and I've already got my first Trojan. With the laptop came a free 90 day membership to the McAfee security centre, so I went ahead and subscribed to it. I don't have any firewall or adware protective programmes up and running yet. The McAfee alert telling me I had a Trojan gave me the option to clean, quarantine, or delete the virus, but when I tried, it wouldn't let me do any, saying that it was not possible because of how the virus is written. Eventually I had to cancel it, so I presume the laptop's still infected.
I've had a lot of problems in the past with my old laptop and was adamant that - due to how expesive it cost, at least - I was going to keep on top of it all this time. Could anyone tell me where I can get free and reliable firewall and adware programmes that are likely to protect me? And also, how can I get rid of this Trojan?!?

Thanks in advance, any advice would be much appreciated :whistling:
