Just this past few days while im in the middle of doing something on my PC, the internet explorer window appears with a file called BRONTOK appearing all written in malaysian. When i searched where it come from it appeared on MY PICTURES folder, i tried to deletete that file but it just keep on appearing . I dont know where i'd get that. And there's one thing i think that MY MUSIC folder where i store all my mp3 and audio files, was also affected. Whenever i open a particular folder, the name of that folder also appeared on its contents. And when i click that same folder the contents of My Documents appeared. I dont know whats happening.

Hi drew_erin...

Your machine is infected with malware... :whistling:

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself...then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. DO NOT REPLY TO OR BUMP YOUR OWN LOG. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
