i think i have a major problem because when i go on my computer i dont see my cd drive and this has been going for 2 days i thought may be if i will restart it will go away but the problem is not fixed. i cannot even burn cds or watch dvd on my laptop. can someone please help me tell me what is the problem.

Hello tekh,

Are there any yellow exclaimation marks or red crosses next to hardware in device manager?
Have you tried running system restore?
Have you installed any hardware/software recently?

You could try the cd gone patch at http://www.geekstogo...tion=show&id=15
If that does not fix it try this from M$: http://support.micro...om/?kbid=320553 upper and lower filters, drive not found

you might try uninstalling the cd player and then do a reinstall
