I have PCMCI - USB 2.0 card from Argosy (www.argosy.nl) and use it with laptop Compaq
Presario 2700 (P-III, 512 Mb Ram, Win XP +Sp2 installed) While I'm trying to
use my USB flash drive via this device to copy files from it to the hard
drive, I have the msg: "The specified I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR7
was not completed before he time-out piriod expired". Than files are copied
from flash. What is the problem? No any conflicts in device manager. :-(

so are they coppied or not (the files)
what i would do is uninstall the divice unplug it, restart your computer install the drivers for it, if it requires a restart restart your computer. after this plug in the card. try using other things then the USB stick. if they work try the USB stick if not tell me the error message while i look at this one in further detail

Yes they copied!

Regarding other USB 2.0 devices, the same situation (f.e. Sony DSC W-5 camera, external hard drive enclosure for 3'5" hard with power supply)

How to correct uninstall drivers belong to PCMCI-USB 2.0 card now while card is inserted I have flw devices in Device manager:

CardBus to USB 2.0 Enhanced Host controller
Nec PCI to USB Open Host Controller
Nec PCI to USB Open Host Controller
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controller
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controller
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controller
USB 2.0 Root Hub Device
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub

I affraid to uninstall USB Root hub for USB 1.1 ports present in my Laptop (two original ports).
How can I identify the Root Hub fo ports of PCMCI card?

Dont do anything yet because i have only glanced at the list but

you have 1.1 USB's in your laptop right

so the USB 2.0 Root Hub Device is probably what you want to uninstall

dont yet though il have a look through later and see what i can find

Just two days ago I had found at www.intel.com some updates for Intel 830 Chipset installed on my laptop. So after installation of these updates I have flw USB configuration in Device MNG:

1) If PCMCI-USB 2.0 card not inserted
http://foto.mail.ru/...ro20/26/28.html
If we are going to properties of USB root hub device

One has flw properties
http://foto.mail.ru/...ro20/26/29.html

Two others
http://foto.mail.ru/...ro20/26/30.html

2) If PCMCI-usb 2.0 inserted but i did not uninstall the USB 2.0 Root Hub Device yet (If I'm trying to connect mouse via PCMCI card no any power on the mouse)

http://foto.mail.ru/...ro20/26/27.html

If I try to remove USB 2.0 Root Hub Device it will be found by the system after rebooting, and installed again :whistling:

Any advices?
