someone put a password on a friend of mine's laptop and he would like to have it start without putting it in now. i have the old password but how do i take it out?

this can be done through start > control panel > USERS
select the account, then remove the password.
However, if ANY FILES ARE ENCRYPTED, UNENCRYPT THEM FIRST.

gerry when i go in and click on the name it says i am going to remove the user and this person will no longer be able to use this computer. it says nothing about the password

Start > Control Panel > User accounts > Pick an account to change > Click on account with the password > Remove password

it does not have a button for remove password only reset password, I tried to put nothing in the reset password but it did not work. I also clicked on the advanced tab and no place does it say remove. the only remove is under user names and that says if I remove it the user will not be able to log on. any other ideas, I just cant figure this out.
