Printer Install Error

Hello All:
I'm having trouble installing a printer after a DSL install. It was working fine on Windows XP...now I can't get any of 3 printers to install. I go all the way through the install process, look for new hardware, then get the message "The system cannot find the specified file". Any ideas? Even the support teams at HP and Lexmark can't help!!!
