IBM Trackpoint problems

I have a IBM 600X laptop which i have had for a few years now. And i started using a mouse a while back and when i did for some reason the trackpoint doesnt seem to work since. the trackpoint does work, however, when windows is not running and it is on like boot options or setup. the buttons are the same way. ive tried to unplug the mouse and enable the trackpoint and then restart the computer but that doesnt work. i need helping getting it fixed. will some one please help me...
