Can't print in Internet Explorer

When clicking on print button or File>Print nothing happens, no dialog box nothing.
No print preview either.. Just refuses to work. Doesn't crash.

Legit pop ups eg Yahoo address book - just get blank pop up window. Tried turning off pop-up blocker.. no difference.

Have run Ad-aware no spyware.
No virus detected by Norton.

Any ideas please.

(Compaq laptop running XP SP2)
