Windows 98SE encountering problems My Windows XP computer has no 3.5 floppy disk working. Technician says that floppy controller is no working. Is this replaceable? So I have files on Win 98SE, which I would like to transfer to Windows XP, so I tried to open Wordpad.exe files, with the intention of e-mailing the documents to myself and opening the e-mail on Windows XP, but Windows 098SE cannot read the files on the floppy drive.

I did a SYSTEM INFO>FILE CHECKER and quite a few files are missing and I have been asked to insert Windows 98SE installation disk, but disk is in bad shape and Win98 can't read the disk. I tried to find a download from Google, but to no avail. I assume that these files that are missing are related to Wordpad.exe. Is therre a way to download wordpad.exe off net. Tried Microsoft, nothing there and their just about done with Win98*Guest support anyway.

Please advise. So in summary, Win98 missing wordpad.exe,; winXP has no floppy.
