Hey guys thanks in advance,

OK i got new a pc sitting right next to me and yesterday while surfing in Mozilla the web appeared to freeze and the display would refresh when the window was minimized. Upon the entire pc coming to a stop including the inabilty to use ctrl-alt-delete for task manager the pc was reset.

When windows restarted we tried to open Mozilla to continue surfing when the browser closed itself. We tried again same thing. We then tried IE and the same thing happened. Now that i was frustrated i gave up on surfing and tried to run World of warcraft which after trying to load the news page at the start crashed witha critical error. Confused i started to think maybe i had some spyware or the likes so i ran AD-aware and it said to check for updates so i did. As soon as it tried to access the net it closed the program.

So i thought ok maybe this isnt normal so i went to network connections and disabled the connectiont o my modem. I then ran Mozilla and it stayed open on the cannot find page site. IE was the same. I put 2 and 2 together realising it had something to do with the net so with it still disabled i ran AVG and AD-aware both updated manually froma seperate pc as well as a few other spyware programs and trojan remover programs i could find. All failed to detect and viruses/trojans/spyware.

So i am now ata loss with a very expensive new pc quite useless now.

If anyone has any ideas plz let me know asap

Cheers Colin

did you have a firewall up when you where first on the internet, if not chances are you got infected. even with those scans it may be a good idea to go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.
If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
