Would you please review my hijackthis log? I need to know what to delete in order to remove the spyware on my computer. I've been having trouble with the "allaboutsearching" spyware (along with others I assume). I already used spybot & ad aware...they haven't caught it yet. I did the hijackthis scan after the previous two.

I "fixed" your suggested list...well, I think I got them. But as I reviewed the new hijackthis list I still see one "allaboutsearching" . Should I go back & delete that? When I got back online I still saw the website http://allaboutsearc...?http://msn.com

Do I need to get rid of any others? What does Windows/system32/svchost.exe mean? I see there are a few of those.

I deleted the last "allaboutsearching" from hijackthis...but I still have it show up as I'm connecting to internet (faintly behind my dialup box). As soon as I'm connected it now switches to http://about:blank/ then an invalid syntax error occurs (it used to go right to www.msn.com...after the "allaboutsearching").

I can type msn.com in the address line and it'll go to msn...is there something I'm still missing that I need to do to get this off?

Well...this is interesting...I tried to "fix scan"
04 - HKLM/..Run: [typepop] C:PROGRA~1ADMINTRUSTSURF/MULTI DOWNLOAD.exe and it wouldn't work. After I hit scan, I checked the box in front of this 04...then hit "fix scan". It can up and asked if I wanted to fix the file. I clicked yes. The box with all the files went blank and it was back to where I could scan, so I tried to scan again...with the 2nd scan I noticed that another RO "allaboutsearching" file was back on and the 04 file is still there too.

I can not "fix" the following:

I check it as if to delete...but nothing happens. The box goes back to as if I haven't scanned yet.

This one:

acts like it deleted, but returns upon the next scan.

Do you see any other problems in the list?
Should I just try to find the O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [typepop] C:\PROGRA~1\ADMINT~1\MULTI DOWNLOAD.exe and delete in out of the C: drive? Is there a way to do that?

Try rebooting in Safe Mode, fixing those entries in Hijack This and delete this folder: C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADMINT... <- this folder (name abreviated)

I was finally able to delete that file...and things seem to be working great now. I haven't seen "allaboutsearching"!! My homepage is back!

Congratulations! If everything seems to be working okay you can delete the Hijack This folder in a couple weeks.

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.
