I am running XP Home with SP2. I have a Soyo P4VGA motherboard with 512 DDR ram and an Intel 2.6 CPU. Recently I could no longer use the onboard video. I added an AGP card (tried several different ones) but the system will not keep the drivers installed. If I try to re-install XP from the CD my system freezes. If I try using sfc/scannow the system freezes. If I try to play Runescape online the system freezes. Can anybody tell me what's up doc? PLEASE!!!

Did you disable the onboard graphics in BIOS set up

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up, then also from system tools, run disc defragmenter

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm then reboot.

I've done all that, and it still freezes up. Thanx anyway. Any other ideas?

Click start then run, type chkdsk /f /r then press enter, type Y to confirm for next boot, press enter then reboot.

Windows will appear to load normally then either the monitor will show progress or the screen will go blank, do not disturb this.

This will take an hour or so before it gets to the desktop.

Which make and model is the card you installed?
